Tech a Break
Welcome to TAVIP’s annual TechABreak event for 2021. This year we are planning a virtual tech a break event.
Note from the board:
We are extremely sorry to announce that the Crewe Arms has closed. We have only been given one day’s notice.
Our very sincere apologies to all those who have booked for the Tech a Break event.
I, Mike Townsend, have been urgently looking for a replacement venue. The notice is very short. Also the rates at Crewe Arms have not been raised all the time we have been there. So other suitable venues are proving to be more expensive.
We are now putting our effort in to the virtual event.
It may be possible to run a future face to face event. But costs are going to be higher.

I am sorry to be writing this email to you, unfortunately the owner of the Best Western Crewe Arms hotel has entered an agreement with the Government for them to take over the hotel and we have to cancel all the bookings from tomorrow onwards. Over the pandemic we have fought to keep the hotel open housing NHS staff and key workers. Our team have worked tirelessly to ensure that we have been looking after each other and our Guests.
The impact of Covid on the hospitality industry had been well publicised. Crewe Arms has also been affected greatly by the restrictions on hospitality. The owners of the hotel have made the decision and unfortunately now we have to manage all the bookings moving forward. We appreciate that this is not the news you would be expecting. We are now in the process of cancelling all bookings in our system.
